Giving Beyond Ourselves

Generosity is a spiritual practice
at Spring Prairie

Giving is at the heart of Spring Prairie’s beliefs. When we open our hearts
to the people around us, welcome them into our communities and our minds,
we can better help those in need, and better share the love and the teachings of Jesus.
to that end, donating our time, talents, and resources is a valuable tool,
both to help those who most need us, and to help Spring Prairie be able to offer such aid.

The ministries of Spring Prairie make a difference. Together, we worship, learn, and care for others.

The Principle of Giving

Living in response to God’s grace, Spring Prairie reaches out with our time, skills and money. About 10% of our offerings are given to ministries beyond our congregation.

We support our older members with visits and caroling; we have a basket available each Sunday for worshippers to give to ELCA World Hunger. Through our offerings we support the Dane County Jail Ministry, Lutheran Campus Ministry, and other local needs.

Charitable and Volunteer Activities

Together we do God’s work with our hands for the sake of the world. We help hungry people locally and globally though CROP Hunger Walk and ELCA World Hunger. We have helped refugees and others to secure safe, affordable housing through Lutheran Social Services and Habitat for Humanity. We hold activities to raise funds for community needs. Our quilters' group makes quilts to provide warmth for children in foster care in our area.
